Use Self-Storage This Spring To Take Back Your House

The spring is a time when many homeowners choose to get serious about cleaning up around the house. Maybe that means dusting and sweeping or maybe it means pitching out some old stuff or holding a garage sale. In general, the more stuff you can move out of your house one way or another, the less clutter you'll have to deal with in the long run. If you don't yet have a space at a local self-storage facility, here's how a self-storage unit can help make your life easier this spring and every season after.

Get Your Closet Back by Moving Your Winter Wardrobe

If you've accumulated more and more clothing for every season with each passing year, you might have a closet or two that is starting to feel cramped. If you wish you had more space for your stuff, it might be time to start moving seasonal clothing into a storage facility. With the rise in temperatures every spring, you won't need those winter clothes for quite some time. Start boxing up all of your heavier clothing and putting it inside a self-storage facility until the fall. This will allow you to space out your remaining clothing or give you more room in your closets for other things besides just clothing.

Late Spring Brings College Students and All of Their Stuff

Most college students are done with the school year by the second half of the spring in early or late May. When they return home from their dorm room, they are likely going to have all of their stuff with them and they'll need a place to keep it safe until they go back to school in August or September. If you just got done doing some spring cleaning around the house, you are probably not going to like the idea of your college student bringing back all that clutter into your home. Get your kid a self-storage facility so they can keep their college stuff somewhere else besides all over your house.

Remove Lingering Holiday Decor

Late fall and the winter bring a variety of different holidays including Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. You likely still have some random decor from these holidays lingering around your house during the first days of spring. You obviously are not going to need any of this stuff again for quite a few months though, so why not put it into self-storage and give yourself more space around the house?
